Terms of Service
Last updated: March 14, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
GitResume ("we", "us", "our") operates the gitresume.co platform ("the Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
GitResume is a platform that allows users to write resumes in YAML format, store them in GitHub repositories, and automatically build and deploy them as PDF documents and web pages hosted at gitresume.co.
3. Account Requirements
- You must have a GitHub or Google account to use the Service
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account
- You must provide accurate information
- You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service
- You must not choose a username that impersonates another person or organization
- You must not choose a username that contains offensive or misleading language
- GitResume reserves the right to reclaim or reassign any username at any time, including but not limited to cases where a trademark holder makes a reasonable request
4. User Content
You retain ownership of all content you submit through the Service, including your resume YAML files and rendered output. By using the Service, you grant GitResume a limited license to process, render, and host your content as necessary to provide the Service.
You are solely responsible for the content of your resume, including:
- Accuracy of information
- Compliance with applicable laws
- Not including content that infringes on others' rights
- Not including malicious, offensive, or illegal content
5. GitHub Integration
The Service integrates with GitHub via a GitHub App. By connecting your repository, you authorize GitResume to access your resume YAML files. We request only the minimum permissions necessary. You can revoke access at any time through your GitHub settings.
6. Paid Plans
GitResume offers free and paid (Pro) plans. Paid plans provide additional features such as more projects and custom domains.
- All payments are processed by Paddle.com Market Limited ("Paddle") as our Merchant of Record. By subscribing, you agree to Paddle's Terms of Service.
- Paid plans are billed on a monthly or annual basis and are automatically charged at the beginning of each billing cycle.
- You may cancel your subscription at any time via the Paddle Customer Portal. After cancellation, Pro features remain active until the end of the current billing period.
- Refunds are handled in accordance with Paddle's refund policy.
- We reserve the right to change plan pricing. Price changes will take effect at the next billing cycle, and you will be notified in advance.
- If a payment fails, we may restrict your account features until the payment issue is resolved.
7. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service
- Use the Service to distribute malware, spam, or harmful content
- Abuse the build system (e.g., excessive automated builds)
- Impersonate another person or organization through your username, resume content, or any other means
8. Service Availability
We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable for maintenance, updates, or due to circumstances beyond our control. We are not liable for any downtime or data loss.
9. Termination
You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, your public resume pages will no longer be accessible and will be removed from search engine indexes. Your resume YAML files remain in your GitHub repository. When you delete your account, any active paid subscription will be automatically canceled — Pro features will remain active until the end of the current billing period. If you wish to request a refund, please do so through the Paddle Customer Portal in accordance with Paddle's refund policy; upon approval, Pro features will be terminated immediately.
10. Limitation of Liability
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. GitResume shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
11. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless GitResume from any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising from your violation of these Terms, your content infringing on third-party rights, or your unlawful use of the Service.
13. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Taiwan (Republic of China), without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Taipei District Court, Taiwan.
14. General Provisions
- Severability: If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
- Entire Agreement: These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and GitResume regarding the Service, superseding all prior agreements or understandings.
- Waiver: Failure to exercise or delay in exercising any right under these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that right.
